One day when I was in Walt Disney World in December I saw this gorgeous painting that I really liked. I thought about it for a few days and went back to purchase it only to find it was gone. The artist that painted it was only there for the weekend. Maybe it was a sign that I didn't need it.
While leaving Epcot one day during my trip in January I happened to look over at the Art of Disney store only to find a sign outside that said Larry Dotson was there. Mr. Dotson was the artist that created the painting I wanted in December. I went into the store and found Mr. Dotson there signing some of the smaller prints he had made of the larger paintings. And then I looked to the right and saw it, the painting I wanted in December. I stood there staring at it debating again what I wanted to do. Well, before I knew it I was telling Mr. Dotson that I would like to purchase it. He was very pleasant to talk to and since there are only 95 copies of the painting, I could pick which number I wanted mine to be. Mine is #6.
I won't tell you what I paid for the painting but I was very thankful that I had some birthday gift cards, Visa Rewards cards and my Birthday Fun card to use towards it. And yes, I was to cheap to pay to have them frame it. But that doesn't matter because it's here and I get to enjoy it whether it's in a frame or not.
Mr. Larry Dotson and myself
I would like to add what the COA states: It's a limited edition print on 100% cotton canvas. Each print is signed and numbered by the artist. First the canvas is printed, then it is sealed with a protective coating and then a gel coat is applied giving it texture. Finally, the artist highlights areas with acrylic paint then another coat of clear acrylic is applied. It's digitally printed using 8 color Ultra-Chrome inks. Light fastness of color Ultra-Chrome prints is rated up to 100 years. It measures 15 x 22.

We have eight of Dotson's prints hanging around the house. We got to meet him in September last year and he was a real nice guy and talked to us for a while.
That's really cool!
What a beautiful painting!! I think I have one of Larry Dotson's small prints of the UK pavilion that I'm waiting to get framed...
Great painting!!! It's beautiful! And yes, with an artist as a father I know what you mean about the cost of getting it framed. That's not "cheap", it's "thrifty" LOL
Great story Lori!
I am admittedly a cheapo, every Disney painting I've seen that I like (usually of Captain Jack)I take a photo of and take that home~
That is a nice painting Lori! I'm glad you got it!
I have several of Mr. Dotson's prints as well. He is quite a talented artist.
I saw that painting at WDW while I was there for Mousefest as well. I'm glad you got it -- I was looking at it but wasn't able to get it.
Looks great. I can hang it here for you if you find you don't have just the right spot. (If you don't offer, you may miss a chance.)
Considering I'm a proud owner of a Thomas Kinkaide print, I could only guess how much that lovely print set you back (even without the frame).
It's beautiful. I definitely would've loved to have that in my house, but I think we are starting to get too many Cinderella Castle pictures and prints (if that's even possible)
